Manav Seva Ashram is a non-governmental organization which work in the field of intellectual disability, divyangjan and orphan children providing them food, shelter, education, treatment and vocational training for free.
Established in 1985, the institute is working in Bokaro steel city, Bokaro district of Jharkhand, India. It is an institute of research and rehabilitation for mentally challenged and a professionally managed premier voluntary organization. It aims at promoting the quality of life of persons with intellectual disability and associated disabilities through a holistic multidisciplinary qualitative service-delivery. It is situated on a campus of two acres. Since its inception it has compromised till date on the multi-disciplinary approach to service delivery with qualified professionals and personnel.
The professional faculties are drawn from different disciplines like psychiatry, clinical psychology, special education, speech pathology and audiology, physiotherapy, occupational therapy. It also offers augmentative early interventions to supplement clinical therapies through dance music, yoga therapy etc. Our organization mainly focus in protection of rights of persons with intellectual disability and other disabilities, empowerment of persons with disabilities and their families through access to services, access to information and promotion of their participation and enhancing the dignity of persons with disabilities through valued approaches and strategies of public education, awareness creation and community participation.
The institute has today grown into a pioneering and leading institution in Bokaro district. Its mission has been to secure them with their basic fundamental rights and benefits and fully participative members of a democratic egalitarian society.
* To improve the quality of life of persons who are mentally challenged.
* To identify the rehabilitation needs of the persons with mental handicap at various stages of their life.
* To enable persons with mental handicap to develop independence and social integration through education, training, employment, multi-disciplinary intervention and through linkages with various sectors for maximum utilization of their residual capabilities.
* To empower and support persons with mental handicap to advocate for themselves and to exercise their human rights and lead life with dignity.
* To protect the human rights and dignity of persons with mental handicap.
